DIY Tapping for First-Aid, Self-Help and Calm-Down

Sometimes your body gives you the signal that stress and anxiety are getting to you. Often you soldier on through the warning and hope that it will go away. So your body shouts louder. What if there was a quick, simple way to ease tension and bring yourself some calm? And what if you did not have to talk about it, or even think about it? Traffic Lights Tapping is here to help. This is a simple, short tapping process that does not need any words. Give it a try, it will only take a few minutes. Make an Appointment if you would like a coaching session to get you started.

You Are the Expert on Yourself

We are all different. We all experience stress and anxiety in our own way. And we can all adapt this Traffic Lights Tapping process to our own needs. Some people like to do it when they get a stress signal. Others like to do it at set times and set a phone alert. Others like to tap whilst waiting for the kettle to boil or in the shower. Or do it as and when you need it – when you get a stress signal.

First Notice Your Signal

Notice what your mind and body do to give you a stress or anxiety signal. Is it pounding heart, shallow breathing, or tensing shoulders. Maybe churning tummy or agitated legs. Perhaps your thoughts race and jump around, or you get in repetitive loops. Notice your signal and rate it green, amber or red. Green is calm so carry on. Amber is a signal to slow down and prepare to stop and tap. Red means stop and tap now. Just like driving – we don’t go through a red light!
